Funeral Services for Alexander J. Heft, no age given, who died in a local hospital Sept. 10, will be 3 P.M. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Cochran's Sunset Chapel with the Rev. Timothy Kribs officiating.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., and had lived most of his life in Gladstone. He was a WWI veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Publishers Paper Company mill in 1963 as a machine tender. He was a member of the AWPPW and of the Gladstone First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel, Gladstone; a daughter, Betty Dubois, Oregon City; two sisters, Regina Hill, Superior, Wisc. and Clara Strom, Marnette, Wisc.; four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
