ETHEL'S name made the local paper (The Oregonian) on 4 January 1916 when she went was among six young people injured in sledding and sleighing accidents after her bobsled hit a fence. She sprained an ankle and collected some bruises. Whether she continued her interest in speeding along Oregon City streets in the winters is unknown.
She married twice.
Husband 1: Alexander Joseph HEFT on 4 Oct 1923 in Vancouver, WA. The couple moved to Powell River, British Columbia, Canada for some years and missed the 1930 census.This marriage ended in divorce on June 9, 1947 in Oregon City, OR. Certif.#2856.

2) Betty Louise HEFT DU BOIS (1924-2003).
Husband 2: Frank Albert BERNARD on 14 February 1948 in Vancouver, WA.
