Jim was born to Rev. Walter C. and Ethel Hall Chapman. He married Vella Louise Esque on January 6, 1938. Jim and Vella divorced. Later Jim and Sylvia Plybon Safford lived togeher until his death. Jim never had any children. Jim served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a plumber and also business agent for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local# 521. He was a member of the VFW Post 1064, DAV Chapter 2, Elks Club PBOE Lodge #313 and Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #521. Jim died at St. Mary's Hospital.
