Dwight Anthony Flanagan, 52 of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly Friday, February 6, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Kingsport; Anthony had lived in Church Hill for some time before moving back to Kingsport. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emory "Twig" and Laura June Rowlett Flanagan
He is survived by his wife Mary Swanson Flanagan, of the home; three stepdaughters, Janie Roseman, of North Carolina, Mary Adkin and husband, Bob, of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Vickie Willis, of North Carolina; one step son, James A. Swanson, Jr. and wife, Penny, of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Donna F. Almany and husband, Philip, of Kingsport; three brothers, Gerald L. Flanagan and wife, Judy, of Kingsport, Kenny Flanagan and wife, Rene', of Kingsport, Roger Flanagan and wife, Michelle, of Jonesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews; along with several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 12 noon to 1 pm Tuesday February 10, 2009 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.
A service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Gerhardt officiating.
