Decorated WW II veteran from Carmichaels
Robert George Parrish, 86, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, in Brownsville General Hospital.
He was born January 22, 1912, in Kitsmiller, Md., a son of George and Abby G. Morehead.
Mr. Parrish was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and American Legion Post 400 of Carmichaels. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater, receiving the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars. He served with the 16th Evacuation Hospital from September 1942 to October 1945.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Jean; a brother, Allan E. Parrish of Anaheim, Calif; and two sisters, Dora "Dot" Swartz and Elsie Huzela, both of Carmichaels.
Deceased are two brothers, Kenneth and Howard Parrish; and two sisters, Ada Watson and Ruth Cosgrove
