Wayne Adams, 35, Springfield, Ohio, formerly of this county, was killed instantly in an automobile accident Friday, October 22, 1953 near Washington Court House, Ohio. Enroute here with his wife and two children to visit relatives, a tire blew out and caused the car to overturn throwing Adams out of the car and killing him instantly. Other occupants of the car escaped without serious injury. Born January 14, 1918 at Red Bush, he was the son of Charlie Adams and the late Mrs. Shellie Baldwin Adams. He had been a resident of Springfield for a year. He was employed by the company of Thompson Grinder Company of Springfield, Ohio. Surviving besides the father are his wife, Viola Cantrell Adams, two sons, Danny and Donnie Adams, and two daughters, Betty Merle and Shellie Karen Adams, all at home. Funeral services were held Monday at the home of Mrs. Doc Cantrell with Lonza Reed and Tommie Bailey as officiating ministers. Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
