Mrs. Hunt, who was 84 years old had lived in Belle Plaine for 51 years. She was the former Emma Viola Jack and was born in 1862 at Hartford, Ind. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Izra Jack. In 1865 her parents moved from Indiana to Illinois, making the trip by covered wagon. She grew up in that state and was married to Marshall Edward Hunt at Aledo, Ill. in 1881. They lived in Davenport before coming to Belle Plaine in 1894, and this was their home for the rest of their lives. Mr. Hunt died in 1925.

All of Mrs. Hunt’s children were called to her bedside last week and spent the greater portion of their time in Belle Plaine since then. One son, however, had left on a business trip to California after he had spent a few days here, but he was recalled for the funeral services. He was Emory Hunt of Blair, Neb.
