Parents: Henry and Elicea (Grant)Fisher of Sandusky County, Ohio.
Spouse: Greenlief Chute (1837 Maine - 1903 Oregon).

In the summer of 1883 this couple joined the wagon train led by ABRAHAM FRANKLIN SURFUS out of Story County, Iowa. They followed the Platte River in Nebraska, passed through Council Bluffs, Iowa and crossed the Cascade Mountains of Oregon along the Barlow Trail. Their destination was Oregon City, Oregon.

The covered wagon train ultimately consisted of 52 people, 11 wagons, 19 horses, 4 mules. A journal was kept by the daughter-in-law of A. F. SURFUS, MATILDA "TILL" SURFUS, wife of ISAAC. It was published in the Kenneth Holmes collection as Vol. 11 of the Covered Wagon Women series by the University of Nebraska Press as the Diary of Matilda Surfus, 1883. In it this couple are referred to as Mr. and Mrs. Chute, a party of two.
