James Thomas "J.T." Anderson, 73 (b. 22 Sep 1923), of Hortense, passed away Thursday night (27 Mar 1997) at his residence following a long illness.

A native of Brantley County, he had lived in Brunswick for thirty years before returning to Hortense.

A retired electrician with Babcock and Wilcox Co., he was a member of the Boilermakers Union and the Carpenters Union.

He was a member of Satilla Baptist Church of Hortense, and also a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Brunswick. He was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.

He was the son of the late Charles "Charlie" S. Anderson and Gatsy Sloan Anderson.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Rowell Anderson of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Bob Causey of Brunswick; a son, Thomas Hardie Anderson of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Jennifer Causey of Brunswick; two sisters, Allie Mae Brauda and Nora Carver, both of Hortense; two brothers, Homer Anderson and Charles Estes Anderson of Hortense; and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 29, from Satilla Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Jacobs and Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment was in Satilla Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles of Brunswick.
