Joseph H. Eckersley, 75, passed away Oct. 10, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long fight with cancer.
Born July 22, 1926 in Sigurd, Utah, the son of James W. and Evedna Dastrup, Eckersley.
Married Janice Palmer on Nov. 23, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Joe served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He taught school in the Tabiona and Salt Lake City School District for 30 years. He loved his family, friends and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed the out of doors, fishing, volley ball and rock collecting.
Joe is survived by his wife, ... three children, ... three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sat., Oct. 13, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Cottonwood Heights 4th Ward Chapel, 2522 E. 6710 So. , Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call Fri. evening from 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates ... and Sat. from 9:30 - 10 :30 a.m. at the church before the services. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
