John Burr, son of Daniel O and Mary Ann (Lovell) Burr, husband of Myrtle (Morgan) Burr.

Obit: Newspaper Unknown, June 1930 - John Sherwood Burr, son of Daniel and Mary Burr, was born in Scott County, Feb. 6, 1875 and died at Rochester, Ia., at the home of his sister, Mrs. Alfred Morgan on Wednesday morning at 8:45 after a lingering illness of about three years. About four weeks ago he suffered a relapse and gradually grew worse until death relieved him. He spent his entire life in and around Rochester. He was united in marriage to Miss Myrtle Morgan in 1901.
He is survived by his wife and four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Osborn, Mrs. Joe Gustin, Mrs. Alfred Morgan and Mrs. Rose LaRue, all of Rochester; also one half-brother, Chas. Burr, of Guthrie Center, Ia., these with a host of relatives and friends join in mourning his demise. He was a kind loving husband, a patient sufferer and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted from the Rochester church on the following Thursday at 2:00 P.M. by the Rev. Glenn McMichaels and A. W. Straub and interment was made in the Rochester cemetery.
