Alvina Lange, the daughter of August and Mabel (Lenz) Lange, was born in rural Reynolds, North Dakota on August, 11, 1926. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school near Reynolds. Alvina married Robert Klamm on June 4, 1946. They lived most of their married lives in Fairfield Township where they continued their courtship for 62 years.

Alvina was a member of Holmes United Methodist Church where she faithfully served in the Ladies UMW. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, gardening and running the family farm. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her buns.

She is survived by her husband Robert, Grand Forks; sons, Larry (Vicki) Klamm, Brandon, South Dakota, Jim (Mary) Klamm, Park Rapids, MN, John (Sharon) Klamm, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Marvin (Diane) Klamm, Grand Forks, Neal (Roberta) Klamm, Thompson, ND, Calvin Klamm, Reynolds, Dennis (Sharon) Klamm, Crookston, MN; daughters, Ellen (Larry) Leake, Crookston, MN, Joyce (Orris) Johnson, Grand Forks, Marilyn (Brian) Reigel, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, Colleen (Curt) Fischer, Thompson, ND, Charlotte (Scott) Clayton, Northwood, ND, Sharon (Blaine) Solheim, Fergus Falls, MN; 31 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Ervin (Jeanette) Lange, Grand Forks; sisters, Agnes Lange, Ella Fischer, and Evelyn Lange, all of Grand Forks; Sister-in-law, Marion (Howard) Fischer, Thompson, ND. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Leon; a brother Raymond; brother-in-law, Maynard Fischer; daughter-in-law, Linda Klamm; and a brother-in-law, Paul Klamm; sister-in-laws, Mary Lange, and Olga Lange.

Services: will be Wednesday January 21, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Holmes United Methodist Church

Visitation: will be 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, and for one hour prior to the service in the church.

Interment: will be in Holmes Cemetery
