Paul Isaac Davenport, 90, of Pineville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 at Britthaven of Pineville. He was born in Bell-Jellico on June 2, 1918, a son of the late Charlie and Mossie Lee West Davenport. He believed in the Baptist faith and had been a Bell County Division of Forestry Firefighter. He served in the United States Army during world War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Elias Davenport, Silas Davenport, Goldie Beck, Ruth Matthews, Beatrice Philpot, Kathleen Sturgill and Birdie Foster and Roxie Sparks. Survivors include a special nephew, John Paul Goodin and his children, Krista Goodin and Samuel Slusher, sister Jewell Goodin and brother, John Davenport and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Mike Liford. Music was by the Singing Reapers and Soul Saver. Burial was in Mills Cemetery, Tinsley. Pallbearers were John Paul Goodin, Michael Goodin Sr., Michael Goodin Jr., James Jones, Justin Goodin, Ernie Goodin, Kenny Goodin, Charles Mason and Hank Honeycutt. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Philip Lefeure, Dr. Efron Valencia, Dr. E.H. Rader, Ernest Goodin Jr. and James Goodin.
