Mrs. Belle Fultz Died Here Thursday Night
Mrs. Belle Fultz, 84, a resident of Chouteau county since homestead days, died Thursday night at St. Clare hospital here.
She was born in Greenup county, June 5, 1880, the daughter of James Johnson and Jane Graham Johnson. She married Joseph Fultz at the age of 23, and they homesteaded in the Clear Lake community east of here until Mr. Fultz passed away.
She moved to Fort Benton and worked at the former Overland Cafe and other places in Fort Benton. Mrs. Fultz had been in poor health for the last ten years, and had been hospitalized most of the last two years.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the First Christian Church in Fort Benton with Rev. Don Robinson officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, James E. Fultz, Waden C. Fultz, and Wilbur O. Fultz, Fort Benton; Jack L. Pittman, Lewistown; Jay C. Potter and Billy Potter, Stanford, Mont.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Troy Nixon, Fort Benton; Mrs. Dan Wilson, Cody, Wyo.; Mrs. Clayton Potter, Stanford, Mont., Mrs. Ray Pittman, Lewistown; step-children, Elmer Fultz, Plummer, Idaho; L. M. Fultz and W. C. Fultz, Fort Benton; Earl Fultz, Aloha, Ore.; Mrs. Effie McGhuey, Chinook; Mrs. Violet Rose, Paris, Kentucky.
A daughter, Emmaline, and a son, Lonnie, preceded her in death. Mrs. Fultz is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
