John Thomas Dendy, age 82, died Sunday, June 14 at his home on Route 1, Woodland. Funeral services were held Monday, June 15 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Holland officiating. Special music was provided by Mrs. Nancy Cliett and Mrs. Pam Curry.
The son of the late John David Dendy and the late Betty Harrington Dendy, he was a retired farmer. A lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Irene Dendy of Woodland; one sister, Mrs. Lorette Criddle of Montpelier; one brother, Marvin Dendy of Falls River, Mass; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Roy Collins, Jimmy Kirby, Willie Gene Huffman, Avery Dendy, Gay Lantrip and Tom Criddle.
Memorial Funeral Home of Houston, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
