WOODLAND Elizabeth "Lizzie" Irene Ware Dendy, 92, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at the Traceway Retirement Village in Tupelo. She was born Feb. 4, 1908, in Chickasaw County to George and Mary Chapman Ware. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodland.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with Bro. Lee Dillard officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Caldwell of Minnesota and Mae Morris of West Point; one granddaughter, Teresa Gammill of Starkville; three grandsons, Barry Dendy and John Dendy, both of Woodland, and Keith Dendy of Starkville; two great-grandchildren, Patricia Dendy of Woodland and Megan Gammill of Starkville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Dendy; a son, David Dendy; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be William Conner, David Ross, David Nelson, Jimmy Kirby, Bobby Harrison, Gray Lantrip, Willie Huffman and Terry Ward.

Memorials may be made to the Woodland Cemetery Fund.
