Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church.
Dorothy Maxine Disney was born in Huron, SD, on Feb. 17, 1919 to Clarence and DeLilah (Linn) Disney. She attended and graduated from Huron High School in 1937. She graduated from Chillicothe Business School, Chillicothe, MO in 1938. She married John Pershing York in 1938, from this union she had two children, Judith York Dehne, Jerald Linn York on Bruce, WI.
She was an Interior Decorator for Bob Moore Home Construction in Jamestown and later manager of Sears Catalog Dept in Rapid City, SD. In 1971 she married Clemens Storm in Rapid City, and then moved to Bismarc in 1981. Clem died in 1986. She then married Gus Martel in 1987. He died in 2002.
Dorothy was an avid seamstress, doll maker and quilter in her retirement. She loved her Red Hat Ladies. She was a member of the VFW Auxillary.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Duane) Dehne, of Bismarck, one son, Jerry York of Bruce, WI, one sister Ella Mae (Cliff) Moore of Sun Lakes, AZ, one brother, Dale Disney, of Surprise, AZ, one brother-in-law, Gilbert Andersen of Jamestown, nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. DeeAnn (Mark) Anderson of Bismarck, Tiffany of Quincy, MA, Cory of Minneapolis, Dan (Debbie)Dehne and their children Chanelle (Daniel) Moch, Tyler and Sloane of Mandan, Darcie (Ronnie)Burnett, Grady and Kayli of Cotton Valley, LA, Charlene (Brandon)Darkow, Taevyn and Azrin of Rice Lake, WI, Damon (Melanie) York, Jared, Nathan, Seth, Elison, Jessica, Ryan of Pipin, IA, Mark and Kim York of Rapid City, SD, Jamie (David) Tabor, and their children Raven and Dean of Globe, AZ, Carrie House of Wa, Angelia(Rod)York and their daughters. Dorothy is also survived by her special friend Charles Barth of Bismarck and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands, two sisters, Ruth Andersen, Elsie Ambrosius, sister-in-law, Marilyn Disney, two brothers-in-law, Gail Ambrosius and Rex Phillips, nephew Greg Andersen and grandson David Dehne.
