Ruth E. Andersen, 80, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.

Ruth E. Disney was born November 4, 1923 in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Elsie (Lynn) Disney. She received her education in Huron and moved with her family to Jamestown in 1941 where she graduated from Jamestown High School. During World War II she lived in California and worked in a factory.

Ruth married Gilbert Andersen on August 28, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. Upon her return to Jamestown, she worked for the Stutsman County Extension Service and later for the Jamestown College Library until her retirement.

Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the "Little Red Hens" coffee group. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, visiting and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Gilbert, Jamestown, five sons, Gary (Julie) Andersen, Bow Mar, CO; Rod (Phyllis) Andersen, Grand Forks, ND; Greg Andersen, Jamestown; Randy (Lori) Andersen, Winter Springs, FL and Jeff (Shelly) Andersen, Jamestown, one daughter, Sue (Butch) Forester, Jamestown, seven grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy Martel, Bismarck, ND; Ella Mae (Cliff) Moore, Sun Lakes, AZ and Elsie Ann Ambrosius, Huron, SD and one brother, Dale L. Disney, Dixson, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
