Mr. Elmer (Junior) Clarence Lawson, Jr. died on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at his home in Shenandoah after battling cancer.
He was born on Jan17, 1941, to the late Elmer C and Mayme Williams Lawson of Elkton.
On July 15, 1966, he married Betty Shenk who survives.
He served in the U S Navy from 1960-1964. He worked as a sheetmetal mechanic for 30 years.
Survivin in addition to his wife, are three children, Timmy Shenk and wife Robin, Tracey Kendig and husband Ted, Tammy Good and husband, Eddie, all of Shenandoah; two sisters, Charlotte Conley and husband Otho Lee and Peggy Dean, all of Elkton; and eight grandchildren, Heather Shenk of Harrisonburg, Katie Shenk, David and Cody Buracker, Tyreese Kendig, Corey Tyler, and Joshua Good, all of Shenandoah. Also survived by a special cousin, Max Short and wife, Gloria, of Luray; and a special neice and helper, Pam Shenk of Shenandoah.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll Lawson and Lewis Lawson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, at Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah by the Rev. Jimmy Kite.
Burial will be in the McAlister Family Cemetery in Shenandoah.
