The death of B. P. Lesuer, a well known citizen of this city, occured at 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home on first Avenue, between North 10th. and 11th Streets. The deaeased had been in ill health the past two years.
Mrs. Lesuer was 74 years old, born in Georgia, January 26, 1841, he had been a resident of this city the past 46 years, moving from south Georgia.
His marriage to Miss Julia F. Ingram occured in Chambers County on June 2, 1889. the deceased was engaged in railroad work most of his life and up to a few years ago when he retired from active duty. Mr. Lesuer was a member of the Methodist Church and the K. of P. lodge.
Surviving are his wife, one son R. D. Lesuer, three daughters, Mr. L. M. Jumper of Dawson, GA; Mrs. W. T. Holstun of Weaverly; Mrs. Tom W. Bell of Vincent, Ala; two brothers, J. J. Lesuer of Buffalo, Ala.; T. R. Lesuer of Notasulga; three sisters, Mrs. J. M. Slappey of Atlanta; Mrs. John Wallace of Cusseta; mrs. Emma Morgan of Buffalo, Ala.
The deceased was a well known Confederate Veteran, member of Compnay I, 11th Georgia Regiment, Andersons Brigade, Longstreet Corps. He enlisted at Georgetown, June 1861 and was at the surrender April 1865 at Appomattox Court House VA. Mr. Lesuer was a member of Lee County Camp 261 U.C.V. at the time of his death.
The funeral will take place at 10:30 tomorrow morning from the home, Rev. A. P. McFerrin officiating. Internment will be at city cemetery. The following pallbearers are requested to meet at J. T. Fredericks' undertaking parlors at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning: C. M. Varner, J. A. Greene, E. J. Tucker, M. D. Morgan, S.R. Williams and E. E. Lowe.

Benjamin Preston LeSueur died at his home, in Opelika, AL and reared in Randolph Co., GA of his boyhood home and educated at Cuthbert, GA. He was of Virginia ancestry, the son of Drury M. LeSueur and Martha G. Raines, and was connected with some of the most prominent families of the State of Georgia.
In early life he engaged in railroad work and was grading a road through Georgetown when he answered his country's call. He enlisted as a Pvt. in June 1861, as a member of Company I, 11th Georgia Regiment, Volunteer Infantry of Anderson's Brigade, Longstreet's Corps and surrendered at Appromattox Courthouse on April 19, 1865. He served four years, braved the dangers of war, faced the shell and shot of many battles, and came through unschthed.
Returning to his chosen work, Mr. LeSueur gave fifty-three of his seventy-four years to active service. In 1869 or 1870 he went to Alabama and made the State his home. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and of the Knights of Pythias. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Julia Ingram, one son, and three daughters, to whom he has left a priceless legacy - a pure and unsullied name.
