Winnie, as she was called, was the daughter of the late Arthur G. Low and Lena Pearson. She was a resident of Derry for most of her life, formerly living a short time in New Boston, NH.

She was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1925, then graduated from UNH with her BA in 1930. She was employed for many years as a teacher in the Derry School System, and had also worked for the State Dept. of Welfare.

Her mother, Lena, was Regent of the Molly Reid Chapter of the D.A.R. (1933-1935). Winnie joined the D.A.R. on 20 April 1934 then followed in her mother's footsteps when she too served as Regent of the Molly Reid Chapter of the D.A.R. (1961-1963) and (1976-1982). This year, 2009, she would have celebrated her 75th year as a D.A.R. member as well as her 100th birthday.

Winnie was also a member of the Timberlane-Sanborn Retired Teachers Association. She was past Grand Chief of the Pythian Sisters, and a member of the South Range Circle. She was also a Caregiver and was a life member of Delta Zeta.

She is survived by one son, one grandson, one brother, one foster son, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harland L. Brown, Sr. in 1977.
