He was the son of Russell L. Boyd and Ida Brewer Boyd. Charles attended school in Muskogee. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy and served tours in Guam and the Philippines. He returned to Muskogee and worked on TV towers for 5 years and then went to work at Eagan's Manufacturing for 23 years. After retiring from Eagan's he went to work for Astec as a service tech for 20 years traveling all over the United States for them. Charles was a master electrician. Charles was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved and cherished his family, he was always so happy at family gatherings and good food. Charles loved Nadine's cooking, he really loved her homemade yeast rolls. He loved to fish, square dance, bowl, water ski and play cards with his family before he got ill. Most of all Charles loved to work. Charles was preceded in death by his mother and father, Russell and Ida Boyd, one brother, Carl Lee Boyd. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 1/2 years, Nadine Boyd; two sons, Larry Casteel and family of Muskogee, OK, Gary Casteel and family of Muskogee, OK; two daughters, Cheryl Cooper from Mammoth Springs, AR, Pam Hasty of Siloam Springs, AR; grandchildren, Sherri Ray and family of Muskogee, OK, Cary Casteel and family of Oktaha, Sharon Davison of Loveland, CO, Adam Mason of Fort Gibson, OK, Mandy Guidry of Hardy, AR, Marshall Milton of Hardy, AR, Charles Collins of Thayer, MO, Tricia Hasty of Siloam Springs, AR; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Glen from Muskogee, OK, Gene and Russell from Tahlequah, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2009 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Warner Memorial Cemetery.
