She was born in Sandersville, Miss., on August 3, 1901, the daughter of John and Emma Heidelberg Hassell. She was the wife of James O. Ackerman, who died in November of 1974. She resided in Wayland for the past five years with her daughter. She had lived in Many places around the country and the world, and from 1957 to 1994 resided in White Stone.
