MAUDE A. BIRKINSHAW

Our dearest mother and grandmother, Maude Adams Birkinshaw passed away gently on February 11, 1995 in Salt Lake, after living a long life filled with the joy of having a loving family and many friends and enriching the lives of all those who knew her.

Born November 25, 1901 to William H. and Nellie Gee Adams. She met and later married John W. Birkinshaw while both were attending the University of Utah. They shared their lives together for 65 years until his death on July 15, 1987.

Maude always believed in hard work and found great satisfaction in the variety of jobs that she held which included dental assistant, bookkeeper for her father's carpet and auction businesses, owner and operator of a dry cleaner chain during World War II that cleaned the uniforms of our servicemen, ran a macaroni factory, and worked as a tailor at ZCMI.

She had many outside activities that gave her great pleasure, among which included member LDS Church, past president Ladies of the Elks, member Meadowbrook Ladies Golf Association, Ladies Bowling League, past member Wasatch Mountain Club, member of Women's Legislative Council for Ladies of the Elks and also belonged to many charitable associations. She was a member of the '49ners Club and member of the Murray AARP.

Survivors: Daughters, Diane and husband, Gene Case; grandchildren, James W. Case, Cathie McBride, John Case, John Mulcock, Steven Mulcock, Julee Isaac, and Evan Case; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
