Ruth E. Christy, 64 of Bonaparte, died Sunday, April 24, 1983 at 12 p.m., at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
Born June 4, 1918 at Vallisca, Iowa, she was the daughter of Roy and Ethel Berry Hamlin.
She married Jack T. Christy, August 6, 1949 at Bonaparte. He preceded her in death.
Most of her life was spent at Bonaparte. She was a retired nurse of Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, and the Shady Rest Nursing Home, Bonaparte.
She was a member of PEO, Chapter BY of TTT Society, the D.A.R., American Legion Auxiliary at Bonaparte and the O.E.S.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Christy of Bonaparte; three sisters, Areda Long of Norwalk, Iowa, Barbara Fors of Des Moines, Lucille Baron of Florence, Kentucky; and one granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 28 at 11 a.m., at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. Pastor Bob Dodds will officiate. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery. Memorials to the Cancer Fund may be left at the Funeral home.
