Unidentified Newsclipping - 1871
WRIGHT.--Catherine Sophia Wright gave her heart to the Savior when but nine years old. She joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, of which she remained an acceptable member until she was taken home. Her unassuming manner and gentle spirit, won ardent friends. Her amiable disposition and affectionate nature took captive the hearts of many who now keenly feel their loss. The benevolent demands of the Church, were met with an unwonted liberality. The pastors ever received an inspiration from her ardent sympathy, hearty encouragement and faithful contribution. Her life is an evidence that Jesus saves and perfects in love. Though sleeping in earth's dark chamber, yet she speaketh. In her protracted illness and suffering, she evinced the utmost Christian fortitude. So completely did she sink into the Divine will, that not a murmur was uttered throughout that period of intense pain. Beautifully was verified the Scripture, "Unto the pure, all things are pure." She drank in a knowledge of the Master, from the blue dome, from the falling snowflake and from the gilded sun ray. She bloomed here through life's mid-summer, and now enjoys heaven's perennial clime.
