Excerpt -- Mrs. Olive S. Hershman, 84, died April 3 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Paul Martin of Grafton. Mrs. Hershman, a native of Preston County, had been seriously ill for three weeks. She was born April 19, 1869, a daughter of the late George and Martha Wolfe Bolyard. Her husband, James E. Hershman, died in 1946. Mrs. Hershman is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Bessie M. Royce of Grafton, Mrs. Ethyl S. Larew and Mrs. Alice M. Larew, both of Newburg, Mrs. Ella Shumaker of Knottsville, Mrs. Mildred Martin of Cumberland and Mrs. Paul Martin; four sons, Herbert of Morgantown, Clarence of Grafton and Earl and Jennings of Knottsville; three brothers, Jewell Bolyard of Fellowsville, Ebb Bolyard of Zanesville, Ohio, Will Bolyard of Reedsville; three sisters, Mrs. Adis Hibbs of Fairview, Mrs. Donna Welch of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Ida Runner of Canton, Ohio; 44 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Services were held April 6 at the Evansville Methodist Church by the Rev. Stoneking Groves. Interment was in Evansville cemetery.
