Death of James M. Lilly

Departed this life after much suffering on Sunday evening, December 2, James Monroe Lilly, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 23 days.

The funeral services took place December 5, at 9:30 at his late homestead at 11:30 at the Lutheran Church of Mosiertown, of which he was long a member, conducted by his Pastor, Rev. T. R. Roth, with burial at Saegertown, his boyhood home.

Mr. Lilly was born in Woodcock Township, March 7, 1844, one of a family of ten children - Henry, Andrew, John, Frank, Catherine, Mary, Sarah, Alice and Julia. December 30, 1869 he was united in marriage with Abigall Mosier. To this union was born one daughter, Alice May, now the wife of Nathan Dunn.

Widely known as a man of quiet genial, industrious disposition and character. Mr. Lilly's funeral was very largely attended by relatives, neighbors and friends.

The bereaved family hereby extend their heart-felt thanks to the many for kindly offers of sympathy and help during the long illness.
