She was daughter of John and Margaret Loleta Stansel Tucker. She married Charles Van Buren Carlisle on Aug 22, 1886 in Webb City, AR. She went by "Ho Ky", an indian name meaning "admired and smart person of the tribe. Something like a medicine woman who has a great deal of knowledge"
Her mother was said to be Cherokee and came from GA on the trail of tears. She also went by the name "Annie".
