Alma Boenker, 86, dies at hospital
Mrs. Alma Boenker, 86, formerly of route 1, Decatur, widow of Walter Boenker, died at 7 a.m. Sunday at the Fort Wayne Lutheran hospital; where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been a resident of Crows Haven nursing home, Fort Wayne, for the last four years.
She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church at Bingen and the Ladies Aid.
Born in Adams county on Dec. 22, 1887, she was the daughter of Louis and Ann Huser-Schroeder, and was married to Walter Boenker, who died April 24, 1944.
Survivors include a foster daughter, Mrs. Martin (Bertha) Braun of route 1, Decatur; a foster son, Raymond Graft of route 1, Hoagland; six foster grandchildren and two foster great-grandchildren. One son and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick funeral home, with Rev. James T. Hoppes officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran cemetery at Bingen. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon today.
