She married Roger W. Spory on October 27, 1949, at the Howard home near Wyaconda.
Survivors include her husband, Roger, of Wayland, MO; three sons, William Howard Spory and wife Sue, of Kahoka, MO, Keith Edward Spory and wife Marlene of Macon, MO, Roger Kent Spory and wife Sharon, of Wayland, MO; nine grandchildren: Heather, Dena and Charlie Spory, of Kahoka, Seth, Phillip and Casey Spory of Macon, MO, David and Jennifer Hoenigh and Karyn Spory of Wayland, MO; one aunt, Lola Simmons of Kahoka; brother-in-law Earl Spory of Quincy, IL; two sisters-in-law, Helen Spory of Quincy, and Mrs. Roscoe (Lylah) Bradbury of Quincy; nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Cecil Howard and wife Mary Ellen Howard Phillips, and a great nephew.
Ada had attended school in Williamstown and Gem City Business Shool in Quincy. She was first a wife, mother and grandmother, and in addition had previously worked for Thomas Truck and Caster, the Main Cafe and at the soda fountain of Scott O'Reilly Drug Store, all in Keokuk, and the Traveler Cafe in Wayland. She had just retired from the Clark County R-1 School District where she was a cook at Running Fox Elementary School for the past 14 years.
She was a charter member of the Southern Baptist Fellowship Church of Wayland, MO.
Services were held Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at 2 p.m. at the Southern Baptist Fellowship Church at Wayland, with Rev. Joe Walker officiating. Mrs. Opal Carter was the organist and Mr. John Carter was the soloist.
Pallbearers were: Richard Tuttle, Tim O'Neal, Roger Watson, Larry White, E.W. Howard and Gary Bradbury.
Burial was in the Frazee Cemetery.
