Daughter of Gideon Welles (a descendant of Gov. Thomas Welles of Conn.) and his wife Eunice Walker. Married Lieut. Nathaniel Blackman (1738-1819) of Huntington, Conn., 24 Oct. 1770, as his second wife. The couple removed to Jericho late in life, with several of their married sons, some of whom are buried near them.
