Funeral services for Irene M. Thompson, 75, of 1365 Sublette St., were held Friday, March 21, at the LDS Church. The Bishop James Curry of the Rock Springs First Ward officiated.
Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, and pallbearers were Mike Hess, Frank Riskus, Felix Chabre, David Plew, Ken Weskamp and Louis Ruckert.
Mrs. Thompson died Monday, March 17, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where she had been a patient for nine days.
A resident of Wyoming since 1927 and Rock Springs since 1950, Mrs. Thompson had been in ill health the past eight months. She was born in Bloomington, Idaho on May 4, 1904, the daughter of the late Journal Alonzo and Amy Jarvis Palmer. She attended schools in Bloomington and married Merrill Swan Thompson on Jan. 25, 1923 in Bloomington. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple. Mr. Thompson preceded her in death in March of 1967. Mrs. Thompson was a retired cook for the Mountain Fuel Supply Company.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ted (NaDee) Pedersen of Rock Springs and Mrs. Russel (Bonnie) Hadley of Green River; one sister, Mrs. Elzo (Leona) Lewis of Kemmerer; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
