"Francis Parke, Esq., died at his residence in West Chester, on Tuesday last. His remains were interred at Coatesville, on Thursday. Mr. Parke took an active interest in public affairs, and was at one time, Burgess of the Borough of West Chester."
Francis was one of six sons of John G. and Jane (Gardner) Parke, after whom the town of Parkesburg was named. Francis married Sarah Gardner and they had at least five children, including Major General John Grubb Parke.
