Precious Memories from a loving daughter:

This lady had many names, Mom, Granny, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt Rubye and Ms. Jackson to name a few. She was a mother and homemaker all her life but in later years did work outside the home.

Anyone who knew her, had no doubt about her passion for sports. Before TV was around, I can remember Mom and Dad with their ears to an old battery powered radio listening to the St Louis Cardinals. Basketball was her passion and anyone who knew her can attest to that. She once got a holiday from a hospital stay to go to a basketball game at Grove High School.

In later years she worked for Fields Men's Store as an alteration lady. She was great with the sewing machine.

She went to work at Paris Landing State Park Inn in 1957, making those homemade biscuits and beautiful and delicious pies. We all remember our "get togethers" at Mom's house and that big round table filled with food. And her motto, there is always room for one more.

Many times we had that one more, either a friend David had brought home for a weekend, or Joy with a car full from Murray State and even Betty home from the Navy, two car loads, with girls from all over the United State.

No matter---the door was always open at the Jackson house. And we could always depend on one or two of her favorite pies, and you could always make sure, ONE of them was Chocolate.
