Seattle - Alana Mayne Van Ness, 48, died with her beloved son, John Patrick Hennessey, on November 14, 1995, of causes incident to an automobile accident near Malt, Idaho. She was born May 19, 1947, in Idaho, a daughter of Lucille Bagley Mayne and Alfred Mayne.
As a young girl, Alana lived with relatives in Twin Falls, Idaho. When she was twelve, she came to Seattle to live with her mother in a little house in Sheridan Beach. She attended Morgan Junior High and was graduated from Shorecrest High School. Her friends remember that she was a Seafair Princess during high school and rode on a float in the Torchlight Parade. She attended Brigham Young University and a beauty school in Provo, Utah.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served for many years as a teacher and leader in the youth programs in her area. She will be remembered always by those she taught and those with whom she worked as diligent, energetic, and loving.
She is survived by her beloved husband, her precious children, her stepchildren and one grandson.
