Oscar married Jennie Amanda McQuiston on 25 July 1906 in Little Rock, Arkansas. They had two children, John Franklin Ives, b. 05 March 1911; d. 07 March 1911 and Ruth Jeanette Ives, b. 21 Sept 1913; d. 17 June 1916. Jennie appears to have died 3 months after Ruth was born. The cemetery records listed the babies as having the last name of "Van Patten" which is their grandmother's (second) married name.
