Edward was the sixth of ten children of P. Jacob Shoudt and Wilhelmina Shafer Shoudt. He grew up in Tinicum Twp. and Bridgeton Twp., both in Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. The rest of his family spelled their surname Shoudt.

He married Ella Trauger. The couple had six children: Arthur Abraham in 1893, Montford in 1895, Anna and Mildred in 1898 (twins - both died very young), Myrtle Eve in 1900 and Chester in 1902.

Edward was a farmer, and he lived in Tinicum Twp.; Pohatcong, Warren Co., New Jersey and Easton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania as an adult.

He had two known grandchildren, Kenneth and Elnore, from his son Montford. No doubt there are more descendants.

His cause of death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

Thanks so much to Beverly G. Kirby-McDonough for so graciously uploading the gravestone photo.
