Larona Henry Stoffers, 68, a veteran sheep man, died Thursday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs James Williams of Lakeview of a heart ailment.
He was born March 29, 1876, in Salt Lake City, a son of Claus and F. Alleen Holmberg Stoffers. The family moved to Cokeville Wyo., when he was a young boy and he attended school there, later studying at U.S. A. C. in Logan.
He married Julia N. Kennington on October 20, 1903, in Afton Wyo where they made their home for many years. Mr Stoffers had been in the sheep business until he retired ten years ago. His wife died August 4, 1926. A member of the L.D.S. church, Mr Stoffers had lived in Lakeview for the past year.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters; Fred K Stoffers, in the U.S. Merchant marines; Captain LaVerl W. Stoffers in the U.S. medical corps, stationed in New Guinea; Gerald G. Stoffers of Portland Ore.; Wayne Lee Stoffers of Provo; Mrs James T."Annette" Williams of Lakeview and Mrs Althea Wennergren of Idaho Falls, Idaho; four brothers and one sister; Frederick W. Stoffers, John W. Stoffers, and George E Stoffers all of Ogden; Oscar R. Stoffers of San Diego Cal., and Mrs Lu Ella Manning of Salt Lake City and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the graveside in Afton at 2:00 p.m. Monday.
The following members of his family came in to attend the services: Mr and Mrs Fred Stoffers of Roy Utah; Mr and Mrs Gerald Stoffers of Portland Ore., Mr and Mrs James T. Williams of Provo Utah and Althea Wennergren of Idaho Falls, Ida.
