David Shiers officiating. Interment followed in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA
Johnny Ponder was born on December 12, 1942 in Rayville and passed away on Monday, May 28, 2007.
Mr. Ponder retired from the United States Marine Corps. after 20 years of service and having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Albert and Doris McCarty Ponder.
Survivors include his Wife, Joan Nadine Ponder of Sneads Ferry, NC.; Two Daughters, Michelle Berdak and husband, George of Drums, PA and Lea Ann Eastteam of Tulsa, OK; Three Step Daughters, Patricia Pritts, Kasey Shaw both of Connellsville, PA and Kelly McQuaide of Sneads Ferry, NC.; Three Step Sons, Kenny McQuaide, Kevin McQuaide and wife, Ruby all of Weatherly, PA, and Gary McQuaide and wife, Mary Lou of Severn, MD.; Two Brothers, Douglas Ponder and wife, Frances of Rayville, LA and Jimmie Ponder and wife, Glenda of Waskom, TX.; Two Sisters, Joy Storey and husband, Garland of Simsboro, LA and Willie Boyer and husband, T.C. of Bastrop, LA; Four Grandchildren and Eleven Step Grandchildren; One Great Grandchild and Three Step Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Preston Yates, Scott Stamper, Perry Ray Ponder, Dee Ponder, Kevin Ponder, and Matthew Ponder.
