Funeral services for Minnie Marie Chinn, 89, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Chinn died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Frank and Katherine Mott Sellers. She attended school in Valley Falls.
Mrs. Chinn was a homemaker, and was a member of Indian Hills Church of God. She enjoyed gardening and raising Pekinese dogs.
She married Harry Leroy Chinn on April 12, 1942, in Lawrence. He died in 1982.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Josephine Ayers.
Survivors include two sons, William L. Chinn Sr., Meriden, and Harry "Junior" Chinn and wife Carolyn, Lawrence; three daughters, Donna Jean Garner-Shughart, Meriden, Dorothy Moore and husband Dennis, McLouth, and Doris Marie Decker, Topeka; 15 grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Katherine Ray, Shelia, Tracy and Tim Root, Chuck and Dan Decker, William Leroy Chinn Jr., William Leroy Chinn III, Tammy Davis, James and Amy Garner, Jamie, Jeffrey and Jason Ayres, and Mike Chinn; 29 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
