Abby was adopted from the Verona Street pound in Rochester NY. Her life started rough when she was taken from a bad home for neglect with her puppies and they all died. Abby was a pitbull / boxer mix and was the sweetest dog ever. She loved her family and her home.

She originally was to become a guard dog for our bookstore. She prevented 3 robberies. But it broke our hearts to have to leave her in the store each night so we started taking her home at night and she became our pet. She did go to the store every day for 5 years . After retiring from the bookstore she helped us feed the feral cat colonies every night at RIT. The cats knew when they saw her coming it was time to eat!

She was with us for 12 years and with her gone there is a huge hole in our heart. We were lucky to know her. The tears still flow for her. She became a true and honest friend.

Even when she was very ill she didnt want to go to the Rainbow Bridge. She was very brave. It was the hardest day in our lives when we made the decision to have her put down. Thank you Dr. Linda Schneider for helping Abby and us when we needed it the most.

No sneezes or hiccups in heaven Abby.

Visit your local pound, your best friend is there waiting for you. He really needs you now.

Adopting one pet will not change the world, but it will change the world for that one pet.

She died of liver cancer.
