Louise Vandermolen
Lynden resident
Louise Vandermolen of 200 8th St., Lynden, died at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham on Friday, April 9, 1993. She was 89.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Monday at Gillies Funeral in Lynden. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the Second Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. Louis Kerkstra officiating. Burial will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery.
Mrs. Vandermolen was born on April 2, 1904, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Anna (Johnson) Van Dalen. She married John Vandermolen on May 2, 1925 in Minnesota. In 1926, they moved to the Lynden area where Mr. Vandermolen operated a dairy farm. Her husband preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Vandermolen was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Lynden. She raised numerous foster children in her home. For many years, she was a midwife.
Survivors include sons Piercy Vandermolen and Cecil Vandermolen, both of Everson, John Vandermolen of California; daughters Ann DeJong of Lynden and Susann VanWinkle of Bellingham; brother John VanDalen of Lynden; sisters Martha Plaatsman of Everett, Sue Schouten of Lynden and Ann VanderMeer of California; and numerous grandchildren and other relatives.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Northwest Regional Office, 6315 Fleming St., Everett, WA 98203.
