Mrs. Ellen Auseth recently entertained with a dinner in honor of her two sons in the service, Victor A. Auseth and Cpl. Kenneth Auseth. Cpl. Auseth was released from the Army after two and one-half years service, on January 27 at Fort Lewis. Victor Auseth, who has been on home on furlough since New Year's Day, left Monday, Jan. 28, to resume his duties in the Merchant Marine.

Victor Lloyd Auseth, a lifetime Shelton resident, died of natural causes at his home on Thursday, March 15. He was 79.
He was born on June 12, 1927 in the Agate area to Bernt and Ellen (Sievertson) Auseth. He graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1945.
He served in the Merchant Marine after high school.
He married Doris Hovind on October 8, 1949 in Shelton.
Mr. Auseth worked for Henry "Pop" Garrison Logging, then started logging for Simpson Logging Company in 1950. He logged for Simpson for 33 years and retired on a dsiabilty.
He enjoyed being with his family and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, clamming, camping and watching activity on Hammersley Inlet.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Jalmer, Edward, Martin, Kenneth and Harold and sisters Beulah and Hattie.
