She was born March 25, 1912 in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Henry Taft and Selma Lundberg Benson. She and her brother Wesley Taft Benson (deceased) were raised in a loving home in Logan.
She graduated from Logan High School and later attended Utah State Agriculture College where she met her husband Clarence Aagard Anderson. They were married on October 5, 1935. Her husband's employment resulted in several Utah residences including Logan, Cedar City, and Salt Lake City.
She was a devoted lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in various church callings.
She was an excellent homemaker and cook, known far and wide for her famous homemade pies, no one baked a better pie, no matter what the variety. Her life was devoted to making a comfortable and happy life for her family. She loved to travel and was able to visit many countries and far away places.
Though she lived to an advanced age, she would have no part of growing old mentally. She always remained forever young at heart and maintained a positive upbeat attitude which was an example to all who knew her. She left a loving legacy that her family will cherish forever.
After the death of her husband Clarence on June 27, 1990, she married Clyde Depriest Holtsclaw in 1993. He passed away on March 23, 2005.
She is the mother of four children, Ronald Benson (Sylvia) Anderson, Murray, Utah; Sharon (Don) Patton (both deceased); Margo (Richard) Sharp, Sandy, Utah; and Clarence LeRoy (Dianne) Anderson, Salt Lake City, Utah. She has 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East in Murray, Utah from 7:00 to 8:00 on Friday, January 16, 2009. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Little Cottonwood 9th Ward Chapel, 1160 East Vine Street, Murray, Utah at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South) in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
