James C. Roberts, 87, passed away November 11, 2009 in Edmond, OK. James was born on March 25, 1922 in Washington, OK to Joseph J. and Mary A. Roberts. He graduated from Edmond High School and married Sally Boone on September 5, 1940. He worked as a diesel mechanic and spent many years as shop foreman at both Mack Trucks and Peterbilt. He was member and former Sunday school teacher and deacon at Edmond's First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight of his brothers and sisters; and son, James Jay Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Sally of the home; sister, Hazel Cavaness of Piedmont, OK; daughters, Peggy and Mitch Harris and Mary and Cecil Beagles of Edmond; son, David W. Roberts; daughter-in-law, Jody Ro-berts of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Edmond, World Missions. Visitation for James will be from 9am-9pm on Sunday, November 15, at Baggerley Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00pm Monday, November 16, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Edmond, with interment following at Gracelawn Cemetery.
