Bangor - The death of Joseph Farwell, 71, dean of Maine railroad engineers, occurred at his home, 110 Lincoln Street, yesterday afternoon. Death came as Mr. Farwell was preparing to leave for the railroad yards to take over the controls of the Flying Yankee for its scheduled run out of here for Portland.
Surviving are his wife, Julia A. (Coppinger) Farwell; four sons, John, James and Edward of Bangor, and Charles of Portland; two daughters, Miss Kathleen Farwell of Bangor and Mrs. Harold Darling of Bath; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hiram Harding of Unity; a brother, Frederick Farwell of Thorndike; and several cousins.
Arrangements for the funeral will be announced.
