James Dinsmore (Dunsmore) DAR Ancestor Number A032307, was a Revolutionary War Soldier who fought at the Battle of King's Mountain. The battle fought at King's Mountain (7 October 1780) has been declared to be the turning point of the American Revolution.

James Dinsmore ( 32894572) buried in New Providence cemetery had only one wife, Jane Macdonald or McDaniel, (32897124)who outlived him by 20 years (see her FAG obituary). Their son was James Jackson Dinsmore Sr. (50481575) 1815-1896, buried in the Falkville City cemetery with his second wife. He is listed also and correctly as being the husband of Julia Ann Tucker, 1824-1851.

Gravesite Details

He has a box tomb, which was broken when I copied this cemetery in 1984. Earlier there was a Revolutionary War Soldier Memorial which has disappeared from the cemetery.
