Born in Maroa Feb. 27, 1888, he was the son of Frank J. and Mary (Fort) Braden. He married Estella Marie Poland on April 10, 1912 in Bloomington.
Mr. Braden conducted Conover's Military Band at Maroa for several years. He was a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Montizelle Karr of Clinton; a sister, Mrs. Otis (Dollie) Reed of Maroa; three brothers Newell and Carl of Decatur; and George of Maroa.
Rev. Francis Dykstra officiated at services Thursday afternoon at the Herington-Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
