Mr. James Hurley Autry, 75 of 311 Autry Mill Road, Autryville, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home.

The funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 20 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Rev. Wesley Cotten officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery, Stedman.

Mr. Autry was born August 8, 1940 in Sampson County and worked as a Supervisor with Denny Plywood. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Olive and Ruby Naylor Autry; his wife, Peggy Autry; and one sister, Clara Autry.

He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Autry of the home, Janet Cotten and husband Wesley of Holly Springs; three sons, Michael Autry and wife Teresa of Autryville, John Alt and wife Angie of Benson, Allan Alt of Erwin; one sister, Doris Jackson and husband Kenneth of Godwin; 11 grandchildren, Kaitlin Autry, Kara Cherry, Cheri Simcox, Rodger Simcox, Cheyenne Cotten, Geoffrey Alt, Jordan Alt, Jansen Alt, Mykal Alt, Steven Alt, Ali Alt; and one great grandson, Wyatt Simcox.

The family will receive friends 7:00 to 9:00 pm Saturday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at his home.
